I love to make things. I love to write, photograph, craft, draw, paint, et cetera. It would be a dream to be able to do these things all of the time and make enough money to do them some more.

I’m a country girl at heart, an urban farmwoman in practice.
I love my kitchen, my cookbooks, paint chips, furniture, fabric, woodworking. I sew and knit and crochet and want to venture into embroidery and jewelery-making.

I’m terribly invested in my communities, wherever they might be. I grew up in Pembina Valley on a small farm that was forced out of business in the early 90s. I went to school, worked in Parliament and then in the public service in Ottawa for 10 years.
I care deeply about democracy, public service (and especially its renewal), healthcare, housing, transit, poverty. I spend nights awake thinking about climate change, security, foreign policy.

I’m six feet tall and chubby. I suffer from low self esteem and bouts of depression. I’ve got most things under control, it’s made easier by taking one and a half of these in the morning. I’m in love with the snooze button, so I take it right at my fake alarm time and then by the time I’ve snoozed for a while everything has kicked in and I can tackle the world.
When I fall in love, I fall in love deeply. I’m in love like I’ve never been in love before.
