The Homemade Revolution

I am working to apply the values that my mother and grandmothers (and their mothers and their mothers after that) taught me.  Here are a few of the things on that list, though I know this is just a start.

  • Making food from scratch that is healthy, simple, and not too expensive
  • Growing as much produce as I can with the space that I have
  • Buying local produce, meat, and dairy whenever possible
  • Sewing my own clothing whenever possible
  • Air drying my clothes as often as I can
  • Giving gifts that are handmade (either by me or someone else)
  • Encouraging others to start their own homemade revolutions

Posts flagged “Urban Farmworman” are a statement of my identity as a woman who grew up on a farm, but is living in the city.  They will be further broken down into “Mel’s Kitchen” where I will focus on food, “The Famstead” where I will focus on home and garden, and “Homemade Revolution” for things I just generally make.  And of course, there will be some cross categorizing, but I’m sure you’ll be alright with that.
